What is the right RV length? There are as many ways to answer that question as there are people and types of RVs! What is “right” for a single person in their 20s isn’t the same as what’s “right” for a couple who is planning to retire and travel the country, nor is it the same as what’s “right” for a family of six with school-age children.

When choosing an RV there are many things to think about, and RV length is one thing you don’t want to overlook. Let’s look at different RV lengths, what you may want to consider when purchasing an RV, and how your RV length can affect your camping destination decisions.

Taking to the open road with your family and your RV, it doesn’t get much better!  Traveling with your family on an RV vacation is both affordable and fun. It allows more family time as you make the trek to your destination and lets you feel at home no matter how far away you travel.

Side trips or unplanned stopovers are a cinch when you have your kitchen, bed, and more with you no matter where you go! Even if you aren’t the spontaneous type, traveling with your portable version of home makes it more relaxing and enjoyable to return to after a day of hiking, swimming, shopping or exploring.

The open road and the great outdoors are two of the best reasons for camping. One thing to keep in mind when planning your getaways is RV security. Food, clothing and other gear may make your packing list, but safety measures may not always be on your radar.  While camping and RV travel is generally a safe endeavor, being prepared can help avoid unfortunate situations.
