What is the right RV length? There are as many ways to answer that question as there are people and types of RVs! What is “right” for a single person in their 20s isn’t the same as what’s “right” for a couple who is planning to retire and travel the country, nor is it the same as what’s “right” for a family of six with school-age children.

When choosing an RV there are many things to think about, and RV length is one thing you don’t want to overlook. Let’s look at different RV lengths, what you may want to consider when purchasing an RV, and how your RV length can affect your camping destination decisions.

According to one of the most famous folk songs in the United States, written by Woody Guthrie:

“This land is your land, this land is my land,

From California, to the New York Island,

From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters

This land was made for you and me.”

What better way to enjoy this land of ours than to see it up close? And, what better way to see it up close than to camp on it? The Yellowstone Act of 1872 established by Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant, was the first act to set a tract of land apart for public use. Today, there are over 100 million acres of public land in state and national parks. Camping on public land is a wonderful way to appreciate and enjoy nature from coast to coast.

Taking to the open road with your family and your RV, it doesn’t get much better!  Traveling with your family on an RV vacation is both affordable and fun. It allows more family time as you make the trek to your destination and lets you feel at home no matter how far away you travel.

Side trips or unplanned stopovers are a cinch when you have your kitchen, bed, and more with you no matter where you go! Even if you aren’t the spontaneous type, traveling with your portable version of home makes it more relaxing and enjoyable to return to after a day of hiking, swimming, shopping or exploring.
